Emergencies

Here for you in any Emergency

Our staff are on hand during the day to assist in any emergency you may have with your pet. If your pet needs veterinary attention outside of our normal working hours, you will quite rightly still want to receive the same professional and prompt attention that you get from your own vet during the day.

However, even the best vet in the world cannot be personally available 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, so we work alongside a dedicated veterinary establishment priding themselves on providing professional veterinary care and emergency treatment for when we are closed.

The service is called VETS NOW, which is permanently staffed by a qualified team of vets and nurses who specialise in emergency cases and critical care, giving you the support and high quality treatment your pet may need out of hours.

Common emergencies that would need seeing immediately or for you to seek veterinary advice for are:

  • Cats that are unable to pass urine
  • Breathing difficulties
  • Road traffic accidents
  • Traumatic injuries ie. Fractured limb, head injury
  • Thrombo-embolism
  • High temperature
  • Collapse
  • Epileptic fits
  • If your dog is trying to vomit unsuccessfully / the abdomen seems swollen
  • Dystocia (difficultly giving birth)
  • Fly strike in rabbits
  • Persistent or severe diarrhoea
  • Burns or scalding
