Vet
MRCVSAmy joined us after graduating from the Royal Veterinary College in 2021. She has no pets of her own, but hopes to adopt a stray one day. Her hobbies include art, embroidery, baking and keeping far too many houseplants! When she’s not at work, she enjoys taking in the beautiful Hampshire countryside.

Carolyn Gardner
Vet
Veterinary SurgeonCarolyn graduated from the RVC in 2010 and then completed a clinical training scholarship at the Queen Mother Hospital for Animals. She spent the next 10 years in small animal practices around Reading, before joining Ashworth in 2022. She loves general practice and has a special interest in internal medicine. Outside work, she loves to explore the outdoors with her family, gardening and baking, and has two affectionate cats, Jazz and Loki.

Emily Hardy

MRCVSEmily is originally from Hampshire and qualified from the Royal Veterinary College in 2012. She joined our team in 2022 and is currently training to become an advanced veterinary practitioner. She lives with her husband, daughter and cocker spaniel and enjoys walking her dog, gardening and cycling.

Hannah Tombs

MRCVSHannah joined us as a new graduate in 2004 and has a particular interest in small furries, rabbits and chickens. She is passionate about wildlife, and recently set up her own wildlife rehabilitation centre in her garage – releasing over 100 hedgehogs and 200 birds back into the wild last year! She also has two children, a labrador, chickens and guinea pigs.

Rachael Taylor

BVetMed MRCVSRachael joined us in 2021 and spent time in at all of our branches before settling at our Cove surgery. She is an integral member of the practice and has an advanced veterinary practice certificate. In her spare time, she enjoys socialising, keeping fit and spending time with her new daughter.

Sally Taylor
Vet
MRCVSSally graduated from the Royal Veterinary College in 2010 and worked at a small animal practice on the south coast before joining us in 2019. She enjoys medicine and surgery and loves getting to know our patients! When she’s not at work, she can be found spending time with her fiancé Mike, son William and their cat Dave.

Helen Watson

MRCVSHelen graduated in 1992 and began work in her home county of Yorkshire. She moved to Fleet with her husband in 1995 and joined our team in 2019. Her favourite aspects of her job are dentistry and soft tissue surgery. Outside of work, she enjoys palledboarding, reading, cooking and going to the theatre.

Sophie Gray

MRCVSSophie has been with us since she graduated in 2012. She has a handrear cat called Ivy and two daughters. She has had a lifelong involvement in Brownies and Guides and loves camping. When she gets time to herself she enjoys reading and craft activities.

Denise Tucker
Vet
MRCVSDenise graduated from Liverpool University in 1996 and began her career in a mixed practice. She joined our team in 1998 and has since developed a keen interest in canine and feline medical cases. Outside of work, she is kept busy by her three teenage children, two golden retrievers, two guinea pigs and cat. In her limited spare time, she enjoys reading, going to the cinema and attending concerts!

Beth Eddy

MRCVSBeth joined us originally in February 2020 and loved working with the team so much that she came back after a brief hiatus. She can be found predominantly at our cove branch. Beth has a certificate in small animal medicine and loves working in GP practice. She is equally at home in the operating theatre as she is in the consulting room and loves the variable challenge that general practice brings – every day really is different! Beth especially loves looking after all the golden oldies and helping to keep them comfortable in their old age.In her spare time she loves to be out and about in the fresh air, making the most of the lovely countryside we have around us. She has a very naughty three-legged cat called Humphrey. -
Toby Hartshorn

MRCVSI have worked at Ashworth Vets since 2024. I graduated from the RVC in 2011 and have worked in various first opinion practices since then. I have a particular interest in imaging and have a post graduate certificate in this area. At home I have a cat and dog, both of whom were rescues

MRCVSAlex joined the team in January 2024. She has an interest in surgery and is currently working towards a surgery certificate. Alex likes to hike mountains and play football in her spare time. Alex owns a tiny yorkshire terrier called Luna

Head Nurse – Cove
Registered Veterinary NursePhili qualified in 2021 and became Head Nurse of Cove in 2024. She has a keen interest in all exotics, especially reptiles, and is currently working towards an exotics certificate. In her spare time, she enjoys travelling, the outdoors and seeing family and friends. She has two cats called Squirrel and Squid, and is the proud owner of a royal python called Nagini.

Student Veterinary NurseChloe joined our team in 2021 and has never looked back! She has developed a real passion for animal care and is aiming to become a veterinary nurse. She is the proud owner of a family dog named Chester and a horse called Buzz, who is a traditional Irish cob.

Registered Veterinary NurseFran has been working as a veterinary nurse since 2015, and loves nurse clinics and hospital nursing. She spends two days a week with us, and spends her time outside of work looking after her daughter Opal and perusing antique fairs!

Registered Veterinary NurseGemma qualified in 2015 and joined our team the following year. She enjoys all aspects of veterinary nursing, but has a particular interest in anaesthesia. She has a soft spot for large dogs, and has Labradors, guinea pigs and a tortoise of her own at home.

Registered Veterinary NurseJo joined the team in 2004 as a trainee and qualified in 2007. She enjoys all aspects of nursing, with a special interest in nursing clinics and bereavement, allowing her to help and support clients through the final decisions for their much loved pets. In her spare time, she enjoys meeting friends, long dog walks – pub lunches are essential – and short breaks to beautiful Cornwall and Devon.

Registered Veterinary NurseRachel joined our team in 2017 and has a great deal of rabbit and small animal experience, including time spent running a rabbit boarding facility. Rachel has a yorkiepoo called Milly, 2 cats called Ronnie and Reggie and a trio of guineapigs called, Wilma, Betty and Charlie.

Veterinary NurseNicky began her career over 30 years ago and has experience in small animal and equine nursing. She has even volunteered at a clinic on a small island south of Thailand! In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with her husband Charlie, riding and entering competitions with her horse, Nimrod, and training her dog, Iris.

Outside of work, she is kept busy with her two children and her dog Arthur, who is a keen agility competitor. She also loves open water swimming and playing football.

She met her husband through work in 2004, and they now enjoy family life together with their lovely twin girls and many pets! In her spare time she likes seeing friends, baking, playing the organ and walking and cuddling her rescue dogs Coco and Winnie.

I have a dog named Chili who is a Bichon Frise x Lhasa Apso, I also love hamsters. My hobbies include baking, indoor plants, crafting and cleaning!

Kayleigh joined our team in 2018 after time spent working in another local practice and working towards an animal management diploma. She has a keen interest in canine behaviour and nursing, and enjoys baking, walking and spending time with her four boxer dogs. She is also the proud owner of a tortoise called George. In 2022, Kayleigh joined our team of Animal Nurse Assistants and is now an integral part of the Fleet nursing team.
